During the last 12 months, itsu has put a strong emphasis on delivery. The restaurant teams have been working flat out with our delivery partners and have even launched an in-house delivery service. The [grocery] team have worked tirelessly to make sure retailers are well stocked and our products can be brought across a multitude of platforms, but that didn’t seem to be enough…
In December, whilst shooting our gyoza and brilliant‘broth campaign with style legend and national treasure, Gok Wan, the team noticed a daily shortage of gyoza stock on set… As it transpires, Gok’s gyoza addiction was real, and by that night, the gyoza had found a permanent residence in his freezer.
This week our delivery was a little more targeted than usual… In the Covid climate, Gok sadly can’t be wining and dining his friends and spoiling them with his famous gyoza dipping sauce and chicken ramen– instead he needed to deliver this directly to their doors.
This was no simple delivery – in true Gok & itsu form; it needed style, flamboyance and panache. Within a day, we had a fully branded bus and a new team uniform, Gok’s friends had ‘Gok mail‘!
The lucky recipients [including Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, Fleur East and Fearne Cotton] should have Asian inspired dinner sorted until they can start dining out again.
