Community Kitchen Project

2024, Community Kitchen Project's inaugural year, will see our restaurant & Academy teams take time away from their kitchens & desks to visit primary schools across the country.

the food teacher

The Year Four lesson, which supports the National Curriculum, has been developed in partnership with The Food Teacher™ led by award-winning registered nutritional therapist Katharine Tate (Hons), FAETC, Dip ION (Distinction), BANT, CNHC. Alongside bringing the Community Kitchen Project [CKP] curriculum to life, The Food Teacher™  has also developed the award-winning Young Chef Awards, and books 'No Kitchen Cookery for Primary Schools' and 'Now we're cooking'. Please do look them up.

food groups & fresh veg

Year Four students will learn about the nutritional value of veg before getting their hands dirty with the rock chop, the bridge, the claw, peeling & grating. The session concludes with some healthy competition to win a CKP apron. A special thank you to Reynolds for supplying the lovely local carrots and other fresh veg.

our future curriculum

We'd love to teach more interactive lessons, but we also know we'll never have enough people, or time, to reach the number of students we want to in this way. So, we're busy building a digital and physical library of CKP resources to inspire and educate on all things nutrition.
